For decorations, purchase banners and balloons that have a sports theme and string them around the shelter. For easy food options lunch can be catered from the birthday kids beloved restaurant. Think barbecue, fast food, hamburgers. It doesn't have to be pricey. Just place a to go order and have an adult go pick up the food.

For a birthday cake get creative with the theme. For a park party sports themes are popular. Reconsider cakes in the shape of a baseball park, baseball bat, baseball glove or any other sports theme. The kids will love it.

Also bring several coolers with lots of soda, Kool-Aid, juice and healthy snacks (apples, oranges, carrots and cheese) to give to the kids when they get hungry later in the day. Have several family members serve as referees to watch and participate in the various games and be sure that every person is having a good time.

For kids who get tired or don't want to participate in the games, it's good to have some back-up "quiet time" activities. Some examples are have a family member show them how to originate balloon animals, or have an adult bring a guitar and sing songs to keep every person entertained.

Later in the day after the kids have burned straight through most of their "excitement energy", schedule quieter kids birthday party games and activities. Play games like pin-the-tail on the donkey and musical chairs.

When the party is over, have small "treat bags" to hand out to everyone. The bags can stay with the sports theme, like baseball-themed cellophane bags purchased at a local party store, and inside is candy, Silly Putty and other trinkets.

There can be a few scraped knees and a couple of splinters at with kids birthday party games, so come prepared! Take care of them indubitably by bringing a first-aid kit (containing such items as Bactine, Band-Aids, tweezers and antibacterial gel) with you.

A kids birthday party games party at the park can be a blast on a very low budget. The children will love it and the parents will have fun too.
